Leontes thinks his wife is cheating on him with his best friend and accuses her of infidelity. She and her son die and Leontes orders his daughter killed. The girl, Perdita, escapes and grows up as a shepherd's daughter. Eventually, she falls in love with Florizel (the son of Leontes' best friend). Leontes discovers his wife wasn't unfaithful and she miraculously comes to life again.
