I am searching for answers to the significance and the evolution of hermaphroditism in animals.
Low population density is cited as one of the reasons for the evolution and significance behind hermaphroditism.
But this reasoning, to me, is not tenable for protandric hermaphroditism.
Can anyone give me a better answer?
