My impression, one that I would be willing to be persuaded out of, is that Rorty finds the idea of human nature either useless or harmful or both. I may understand why the latter could be the case, but could a rehabilitated idea of human nature avoid these difficulties? Anybody have any thoughts? Is there no pragmatic value in it?
