I used to post on this board several years ago, and it was quite active. It is a little disheartening to come back and discover that there are posts still up from 2001 (or 19101?) that do not even have replies.
So, what I propose is this: for those of us who check in here periodically, lets sort of "sign in" by repsonding to this post. That way we can develop a little bit of community and continuity here. It doesn't need to be a personal message or mission statement, but a little "I'm Bob, and I'll try to get in here a respond once in a while" would be great. That way we know we're not writing into the void.
Again, the only purpose of this is to build a little bit of community, so failing to participate just damages the possibility of finding good discussion here when we want it. We used to have some great debates back in the day, with people posting multiple times a day. Here's to hoping we can have that kind of participation again.
Thanks in advance,
IVV
P.S. - any of you who are in philosophy programs or reading groups, or anything like that, tell your friends. Phiosophy is not a spectator sport. We can only learn by interacting. Cya soon.
P.P.S. - yes, I am aware of the high level of cheesiness in this post. Try to disregard it and respond anyway. I am not usually a type, but I guess nostalgia just got me going. ;)
