: : hi everyone, i was wondering if anyone here had
: : any thoughts on MODERN communist "bibles" or
: : "handbooks", and whether or not The Communist
: : Manifesto has become out of date with the historical
: : events that took place after 1848.
: its the Bible that is out of date!!!!
Well, its true that the communist manifesto was focussed at the time of its first appearance on the coming revolution-wave of 1848. But it contains also the basic views of marxist historical sociology: the origins of modern industrial society...its political and social consequences...its inner contradictions...the inevitability of economical crises based on overproduction...how the wage labourers go over from the search for a purely individual solution for their problems to common strike action...how these movements reach a wider public and lead to a larger ociation of the workers...how these struggles can only obtain temporary and partial gains "while their only permanent gain is the wider ociation of more workers into common action" ...its criticism on moralising unscientific form of left-wing thought...and finally its basic view that workers in all countries should go over to common action...not because of a moralising "all men should be brothers" mentality...but because the capitalist system is a globalised system...one could say that Marx was the first anti-globalist, and believe me: his ideas are a lot more clear and defined then those of the modern self-appointed spokespersons of that movement...greetings...and see you all...Peter
