There is a universal and always binding moral duty. Whether it is followed perfectly doesn't change it, because it is unconditional (very important word I understand). Regardless of the result of your actions, it is your duty to do it that way. A priori means that before you do it, it is right, not because you find out later.
It is kind of Platonic, this unconditional duty. A universal truth, independent of causality, space and time.
