: : The Can. B'casting Co. (CBC) has recently produced, and re-aired in early August, a five-part interview with Illich concerning the "Corruption of Christianity." I bought the tapes to hear it down here in NYC area.
: : I am wondering if anyone else has heard this show or is even a fan, if that be the right word, of Ivan. I am.
: Yes: I have been listening to those tapes almost continuously since obtaining them in 2/02. While I find his technological and sociopolitical critque acute and accurate; I find his courage in speaking towards his love of Christ, and the worldly corruption of Christ's gift of freedom to us, the very core and actual 'jewel of the crown' that he gave to us.
: I am concerned now, since I've no idea who -of his collegues- really has similar love of Christ, as well as the courage to speak to the corruption of Christ's gift to us. Unfortunately, very few if any theologians have read him, not to mention demonstrate the courage in speaking so truthfully and yet lovingly towards this dear suffering world.
: I am literally still finding it abit hard to breathe deeply since his death. However, I am beginning to see some way to carry on, since -as he himself said "It's God I trust; not you!"; I'm gradually remembering that Ivan was such a friend, a humble suffering friend, much the same as me and many others I know.
: While hope wanes, faith, as a gift, has a wide open chance to slowly and gently carry forth.
