My comments on the perfect storm book may be a little biased compared to most. I was a seman aboarn the U.S.C.G.C Spencer (WMEC 905) in that storm. I found the book very much by accident at a local store.
Some things that the book and movie may never show is some acts of true dedication by different persons. All persons involved did an outstanding . I just wanted to bring light to the fact that when the Spencer was tasked to get underway, a lot of crewmembers were unable to get to the boat. It took just one person to yell out "the Spencer needs people!" We then had an amazing turnout of people and when we were leaving they were still jumping aboard. Just more heros in everyday life.
Actually the book is a good one and presents a lot of good facts. I hope the movie portrays more fact than fiction. Because in this case the facts are stranger than fiction could be.
