Corbett was not fearless. In many of his stories, you will read that he was afraid. In his story of the Panar man-eater, Corbett relates that when the leopard was trying to get at him by chewing and tugging on blackthorn shoots wrapped around the base of a tree Corbett was sitting in, he was "terrified." It must be great to act out of fearlessness, but in my opinion, it is greater to master one's fear and act. I have never come across anyone who did this better than Colonel Corbett.
