I have an eye on a 17' 1983 Boston Whaler Montauk, moderately good condition, with trailer and working/good condition 90hp Johnson outboard (no hydraulics). No other special equipment on board. This is my first boat purchase for use in a 20 mile diameter lake (Lake St. Clair in Michigan). The lady is asking $8000.
Couple of questions to any who would be so kind as to write back:
do you think this is a fair price? I checked online boats, seems fair...
I have had some advice that the Montauk is relatively bouncy of a ride compared to maybe a deep hull fishing boat (which I love to do- fish)... am I going to be bounced around in the chop compared to other fishing boats?
thanks for any advice...
Joe
