I have recently been reading up on complexity theory and have had the following thought: does this apply to personality development? Given that the nature vs. nurture debate is still going strong, but that there is significant evidence to suggest that nature has a strong influence, could complexity theory give us information on how nature and nurture interact? Which genetic factors override environmental influences and which environmental influences override genetic factors? Any thoughts anyone?
