I know what you mean! I read your novel and could identify with the young sailor who suddenly found himself at the breech end of a five inch naval gun firing it at an unseen, unknown foe, day after day, not knowing if he's killing someone or just part of himself. It does something to you.
The book was worth the ten dollars when the hero finally does somthing heroic to stop the killing and save his soul.
