Hello , the USA did not win the vietnam war in any form , the Americains and their allies lost more soldiers that the viet cong, the war was over which political force should rule Vietnam ie. communism or capitalism the french who once owned vietnam were defeated by the vietnames people, in the early 1960 , and then vietnam was deciding what polical status should run the country, the north communism, the south capitalism . The north threatened the south with invasion to ensure communism , but then the U.S decided to get involved , one reason that the U.S. was getting involved was to stop the spread of communism through out the world , for example the U.S.S.R. which was competeing with the U.S. for power. The U.S.S.R was a communist country, and the U.S. did'nt what another country to have commusmism for the fear of the world wide spread of communism because then the U.S would be penny less .The U.S. ,French , Austalia , declared was on the North Vietnmes. The war went on for about 5 years with the U.S. army sending back thousands of dead bodies back to America and people protested against the war due to the number of deaths to the U.S. soldiers in the war. Eventually the U.S. had to stop the war some how fundermentally due to the loss of to many soldiers , when the sent soldiers out there they came back dead , the U.S could not win in any way . The war was decided by the U.S goverment to end the war by a signed agreement agreement between the secretary of state ' William P Rogers' and the Minister of foreign Affairs ' Nguyen Duy Trinh' this agreement allowed vientnam to run there country how they wished to . Which it did a 'communist country' . The Americans did not acheive what it went to war for , hence they lost more soldiers than the viet cong and did't acheieve what they went to war for in the first place , so i find it had to understand why the American people are taught such rubbish in there schools where by they seem to be childish enough not to amit defeat in vietnam, no they did't win anything in vietnam they lost 'Clearly' so swallow you pride
