: the usa lost becouse they are the bad people.they wanted to take vietnam way from the people that live there .the word communists is just a scare word .it was right for them to drive the usa out .we owe them an apology and a couple trillion dollars for the crimes that we comitted.
but as it turned out they paid us off

The USA lost the war in Vietnam because
: 1. the Communists had a superior strategy. They had only one objective- the independence and unity of Vietnam. They achieved this by revolutionary war which involved political control, mobilisation of people and total unity.
: 2. The Americans never understood the nature of revolutionary war which is not won by military forces alone. Their emphasis was on the Operation Rolling Thunder and they only included pacification later on. The needless destruction brought adverse political effects and failed to block COmmunist supply routes along the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
: 3. The American objective kept changing, initially the US was helping the government in SOuth Vietnam against Veit Cong insurgency IN the late 1960s it was to support a stable non -Communist government in SV but that governement was weak and corrupted
: And there are many reasons more but i cant be bothered typing them...
