I found this survey that has a ton of statistics about women in the naval academy, the treatment of women at the service academies, and the general satisfaction of students at the military academies. I think in the last clss, about 11,000 students applied and 1,400 were given LOA's. Most students are not recruited for a specific sport, but they do need to be in some sport to get in. I'm not sure how many girls are recruited for specific sports, but females make up about 17 percent of each clss. I hope this was helpful. Here's the url of the survey... www.gao.gov/cgi-bin/getrpt?GAO-03-1001. If that doesn't work search for "military education students and faculty perception of life at the military academies."
: Hi all. Thank you in advance for reading. My DD has received her nomination from our senator and is awaiting the admissions decision. I think I seriously need an intervention because the waiting is driving ME crazy! Knowing that USNA would be such a great place for her (not necessarily my 3 boys. LOL) makes the waiting harder. Does anyone know how many LOAs are given out percentage wise? Or, how many females are offered appointments that aren't recruited for a specific sport? Thank you for your help.
