Hey,
I don't know how many people you've talked to about coming here. I didn't have any expectations in coming here, and I'm glad for it. You'll be hit by the hardest things you've ever faced-and I'm not exagerrating one bit. Be prepared to stick it out, and be sure you don't want to do ROTC or OTS-because if you've ever considered it before, you'll REALLY want to do something besides the academy. This is my first year. Life doesn't totally right now; especially after BCT. That's the hardest part of the Academy from what I've heard, and I concur. Keep up pretty good grades, involve yourself (at least sign up for stuff) in as many things as possible, and make sure this is what you want, because it'll be challenged when you get here. There's a saying that it's better to be from here than to be going here. As long as you do fairly well in school, you should have no problems getting in. They say this is the toughest place to get into. I disagree fully. It's tough just because there's so much involved in the application process, but try applying to somewhere like MIT. Anyway, the biggest thing is really to get into lots and lots of activities, even if you don't stick with them. Sign up for the stuff, and put it on your records and you're set. Good luck and enjoy the rest of high school.
