I attended the show at the Fleetcenter in Boston on Monday, December 2nd. Let me first say that I'm a big Guns fan, or WAS a big Guns fan-when they were around more(a decade or so ago). This show was, if anything, proof to me that Axl and new company are on point as far as what the band used to be and what the most of the fans want. They ed off everyone almost to a riot by coming on almost 2 hours late then, kicked everyones for 2 full hours. They ripped through the WHOLE "Appetite" album and Axl sounded great. No off key, no whailing, no cracking (like at the MTV awards). Better then when they toured years ago. I think its because Axl is sober, or more sober than before. November Rain, Patience, Heaven's Door, Live and let Die all brought the crowd to a deafening chorus of voices. And the intro guitar of Sweet Child was almost a religious experience to the 40,000 people in the building, as every single hand went up. Girls were crying, dudes were air guitaring. It was truly amazing. And I remind you, I attended the show not a huge fan of the band now, just a fan of the image then.
kudos to the band. Buckethead is a weirdo but he is the craziest guitarist I've seen in modern times. His 5 minute solo was completely fascinating. You could hear a pin drop as everyone just stared, mouths open, eyes wide open. Good Guns....To all fans, you have to see this show!!! I spent $65 and I would spend double if I could be guaranteed the same show. Simply unbelievable!
