I'm looking for the name of a prominent member of the ia gentry (most of whom were solid Anglicans) who joined the Baptists or Methodists, I believe in the years between 1765 and 1790. I read about this somewhere but cannot find my reference. Was it Landon Carter? Please email me if you know. Thanks!
