A good book that gives a fairly decent overview of the foods in colonial times, as well as kitchen info and preserving is "A writer's guide to everyday life in colonial america" by Dale taylor. You can probably find it at your local library. If anyone has any websites or other books pertaining to this information, could you please e-mail them to me. Make sure to include a relevent subject title so I know what it's about and don't delete it.
Thanks!
