Okay, I found a little more, and it has nothing to do with any French war, it was just Hamilton mad about Adams, Burr, and Jefferson running for president in the 1800 presidential election. He wrote a famous pamphlet that was originally secretly sent with sensitive Cabinet information, but was intercepted by Burr and published in the Democratic-Republican paper the Aurora. There..I know a little bit more about the whole thing...but any information as to where to find the full text would be appreciated very greatly. Even if you can scrounge up a name for the pamphlet it would be better than what I have, because I don't know how to search exact enough to find it in the National Archives. Thanks for your help.
