The 1790 Census of ia shows only ONE ADULT HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD living in Albemarle Co., VA named "Davenport" and that was one Richard Davenport. Monticello, Jefferson's home was in Albemarle Co., VA. However, some years previously in the counties of Goochland & berland (Albemarle Co. creatd 1744 of Goochland & Louisa Cos., and berland Co. created 1748-49 out of Goochland Co.), i.e., in the same immediate vicinity, was a Thomas Davenport and a Thomas Davenport, Jr., who are likely to have been of the same family as the later Richard Davenport in Albemarle. The surname Davenport is not all that numerous in ia, 1790, and is quite limited in Albemarle Co. and the parent counties from which Albemarle Co. was drawn.
Hope this helps your search!
