: : "You write in order to change the world, knowing perfectly well that you probably can't, but also knowing that literature is indespensable to the world...The world changes according to the way people see it, and if you alter, even by a millimeter, the way...people look at reality, then you can change it."

: Writing is only an expression of what a person sees and how that person sees it. Changing the world or even one person by writing is only done if the peron chooses to be changed by it, if they accept a message they previously refused to accept or had not previously come into contact with. Sitting down to write with the intention of changing the world... I don't know about that.
Are you suggesting that the only way that people can change is through concious choice? God, if only that were true!
