My husband was a victim of the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks on the world trade center. He was killed saving others; He was a fire marshal for his company in 2 world trade center and was seen on the 70th floor when the plane hit. Instead of trying to get out himself, he returned to the 80th floor, saving others, but not himself. On Father's Day, 2002, I took a prayer book to bed but couldn't read for I was crying. I began writing poems about my feelings, our life togehter; and continued writing poetry of a journalistic type. We were only together for 7 1/2 years, but we shared an almost "perfect relationship". I have now written over 100 poems and continue to write on a frequent basis. I have also been asked to read for the program on WNYE-"Everything Goes," Where I share my poetry with the audience for one half hour. The program will be aired at the end of January or the beginning of February.
I have been told by many people who have read my poems that they should be published because though simply written, they may help others in my position to express their own grief or be comforted by knowing someone else is expressing what they are feeling.
I am looking for a literary agent to review my poems, and give me an honest opinion as to whether I have "publishable" material.
I would appreciate any feeback you could give me as to where to begin.
Sincerely, Francine Skye Lentini
