Dear sir: I have written the following book: The Adventures of Doug and Remi; "Treasure at Rock Island." The book is 90,000 words. My book is just good clean fun. If you would like to read the whole book, just ask. Here is what it is about:
: "An adventure no doubt of two sixteen year old boys inevitably bound in friendship to the very end. Non-stop action. One adventure right after another. After miscellaneous hoots and hollers in their home base of Parker Beach Florida, Doug and Remi, along with their families, load up their yachts and head off on vacation to Key West. After various screams and dreams they pulled up to the Homestead Water Station. With smooth sailing they arrived intact at the Rent-A-Port in Key West, but, only to be faced with mystery and intrigue. In pursuit of the Beach Robber, Doug and Remi team up with the Chief of Police in Key West. Mr. Edward T. Belanger, A rough and gruff sort, after several run-ins with Doug and Remi, was heard to say: "You two show up more in my police reports for doing nothing than criminals do for breaking the law!" After grilling Doug and Remi about a stolen ring they had found on the beach, he found out that they were OK. Hurricane Daniel had devastated Cuba and was bearing down on Key West. One of their yachts had engine trouble while they were escaping to the West Side of Florida. Doug and Remi sailed their sloop on ahead and were overtaken by a squall into a watery nightmare. They were stuck at sea for a couple of days when they barely survived being beached on what they came to call "ROCK ISLAND." Facing huge snakes, giant spiders, and Bigfoot, they lived there for one year. They lived in a solid rock fort that they had come across in the jungle. Weird, unexplainable happenstances were quite frequent and they lived by their wits. They were rescued by the Coast Guard when they had inadvertently blew the windows out of the bridge with a flintlock rifle they had found in a secret cache, on Doug’s birthday. They had a few days adventure on the ship while being taken home. Part two, "BACK TO ROCK ISLAND" will be even more enthralling for the adventuresome reader, appreciating a good book."
