: I'm a 14 year old aspiring writer. I'm curious as to if anyone know about any [non-Internet]journals or magazines that would accept a short (35 page) story I've written. I was thinking along the lines of an ongoing story (each time the journal comes out, another section of my story would be published.) I'm asking for a well-known, celebrated journal. And I'm not asking for pay. A younger, teen's journal would be just fine, but please no 'children's'. Thank you.

You will find that everyone out there wants to be published and you are competing for a precious few acceptance letters. A well-known journal will only accept your work if it could be read by adults. Many times ghostwriters and copy editors edit young peoples' work. Keep on plugging away, though. I am 25 and having been trying since I was your age and I have had poetry, literary criticism (I have a Bachelor's degree in English) and now write website reviews as a sideline, but no creative work published yet. Try reader's digest or submit it to your favorite magazines. Look in the fine print on the credits page and there will be addresses you can send it to... You never know.
