Like, birth happens in this ocean of immortality, and the child like swims in this "ocean", full of "soul" and wisdom, at one with nature. Later, the child tries on, dons, cons, adult roles, then chooses a role to play. By this time, the person is way far from the ocean, is way inland, far from the mirror. But, neo-platonically speaking, the sensitive soul can reconnect with the ocean and, though in a different way, re-experience that connected-ness and primal unity man, whoah!
