In my opinion "The Children and Sir Nameless" was one of Thomas Hardy's better works. The irony he portrays is well developed thought the poem. I think there is a lot to be said about Sir Nameless's character and how he wishes to be remembered for his might. In the end he is forgotten and is placed under the children he once scolded.
