: What are the arguments for including this poem in a highschool anthology of English Lit?
I did this poem at school and am now choosing it to study for my exams at university. It's fun, humorous, and makes a change from the usual weight of Augustan poetry, whilst still including the main features of Gray's writing, eg. clical elegaic form. It really is fun to do, speaking as a student!
