& then some. reading a third translation of this now, and what a thing, what a crafted thing, what a brutal, and fatalist and loving and trusting and illuminating thing. throw a discus. watch birds. wait intently for things to unfold. all things i have done more since i read it. can i recommend if you are having trouble getting your eyes past the words, to try the t.e. lawrence (lawrence of arabia!) translation. then you shall perhaps enjoy the story the mostestest of all
