There can be many meaning to the poem Eldorado but, I believe that there are 3 major meanings to the poem.
1. Do not give up trying to reach a goal or to accomplish an objective that you have set for yourself.
2. The search to reach your objective or goal is more fulfilling than the goal itself.
3. And finally that death is the true goal to Eldorado in that you reach the afterlife and go to heaven. Reaching out and touching God which is greater than any treasure on earth.
