Matt 7:24-27; Lk 6:47-49
ARE NOT THESE GOD'S IDENTIFICATION AND EXPLANATION OF
CHARACTERS AND THINGS IN THE PARABLE? (capital letters for
emphasis)
Wise man -- does not this refer to the spiritually humble
or "poor in spirit (Matt. 5:3)?"
Matt. 11:25 "At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank
thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast
hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast
REVEALED THEM UNTO BABES. "
Foolish man -- does not this refer to the "wise and
prudent" in religious matters?
1 Cor. 1:19 "For it is written, I will DESTROY THE WISDOM
OF THE WISE, and will bring to nothing the understanding of
the prudent. 20Where is the wise? where is the SCRIBE?
where is the DISPUTER of this world? hath not God made
foolish the wisdom of this world? 21For after that in the
wisdom of God the world BY WISDOM KNEW NOT GOD…"
1 Cor. 3:18 "Let no man deceive himself. If any man among
you SEEMETH TO BE WISE in this world, let him become a
fool, that he may be wise."
House -- does not this refer to people:
Matt. 12:43 "When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man,
he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth
none. 44Then he saith, I will return into my HOUSE from
whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it
empty, swept, and garnished. 45Then goeth he, and taketh
with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself,
and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of
that man is worse than the first…"
Matt. 15:54 "But he answered and said, I am not sent but
unto the lost sheep of the HOUSE of Israel."
2 Cor. 5:1 "For we know that if our earthly HOUSE of this
tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an
house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens."
Does not ROCK refer to Christ, and Jesus is the TRUTH (John
14:6)?
1 Cor. 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for
they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and
that Rock was Christ."
Does not SAND refer to people, and therefore it pertains to
"human wisdom/precepts of men?"
Rom. 9:27 "Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the
number of the CHILDREN of Israel be as the SAND of the sea,
a remnant shall be saved."
Does not God condemn human wisdom/philosophy on spiritual
matters?
Col. 2:8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through
PHILOSOPHY…, after the TRADITION of men, after the
RUDIMENTS of the world, and not after Christ."
Isa. 29:13 "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this
people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips
do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and
their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
14Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work
among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for
the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the
understanding of their prudent men shall be hid."
Does not rain refer to God's doctrines/truth? Therefore
flood is an avalanche of truth in the word.
Deut. 32:2 "My DOCTRINE shall drop as the RAIN, my speech
shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender
herb, and as the showers upon the gr."
Does not wind refer to the Holy Spirit as in Pentecost?
Acts 2:1 "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come,
they were all with one accord in one place. 2And suddenly
there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing MIGHT WIND,
and it filled all the HOUSE (disciples) where they were
sitting. 3And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like
as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4And they were
all filled with the Holy Ghost…"
People who rely on their own understanding and trusting on
human wisdom for things of God have a different explanation
of the parable.
People therefore are clified into:
1. Those who rely only on human wisdom (man's understanding
and interpretation of the word of God), and
2. Those who wait for God's own explanation through His
very words.
The formers' belief will surely come to naught when
presented with the TRUTH coming from the word of God. They
will be exposed like the Scribes and Pharisees whom our
Lord called, "The blind leading blind…" Their deeds are
short of God's standard of righteousness. So the warning:
Rom. 10:2 "For I bear them record that they have a zeal of
God, but not according to knowledge. 3For they being
ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to
establish their own righteousness, have not submitted
themselves unto the righteousness of God."
