: Symbolism is one of the most over-used nuances of the Bible. You need to look at the book of Daniel for the use of clay, iron and numbers. I am an ex-Southern Baptist, I am writing books on the Bible not favorable to its contrivances. Humor is the key to life, that's what my books have. Any more--I don't care. There is a radio show called the Bible Answer Man. He's nuts, but he has all the so-called irrefutable answers. I know what you are looking for, I've been there a thousand times. The most unsettling thing about the book of Revelations is that it can NEVER come true, because of a very huge flaw in it. I will explain in my last book--in about three years. Right now I've finished Genesis and am heading into Exodus. Did you know that in Exodus the sun melted? Fabulous. Did you know God killed/murdered a man named Uzzah simply because the old codger tried to keep the sacred scroll box from crashing on the ground? But, so what: the world will always be using the Bible to answer the unkown. The seven lampsstands represent seven churches in Asia--whatever that does for you, I don't know. There are seven stars and seven angels and seven espresso bars. What ever anyone tells you, however, is based on where they are coming from and where they are going. Revealtions has been "a war" of interpretive ideas within the heart and sould of the church for two-thousand years. No "one" interpretation remains universal for very long. To end this, I must say the Tim LaHaye is a liar--plain and simple, he's looking for power and infulence and $$$$$$$$. Cheers!
I don't know where you are getting your ideas but the stories in Revolation most certainly will come true, and some of them already have. The only place to get an infallible interpretation of Scripture is from the Holy Roman Catholic Church. Head on over to NewAdvent.org and read about Revolation (Apocalypse). You are right about one thing... Tim LaHaye is liar who teaches hate instead of the love that is Jesus Christ.
