I am writing because I ran across this very valuable imformation about Oswald Chambers. I have read his book, My Utmost for His Highest for years along with my Bible, and when God is speaking something to me, it seems He always confirms it through the writings of Oswald Chamber's, My Utmost for His Highest. So as I was reading it this morning, I thought, "This man must of gone through such a 'desert time' in his life in order to have such a deep, drawing relationship with God. I began to look up imfo on the internet about his life, and I found this. I would really like to know more on his personal life, as to what particular deserts drew him to the place of death, in his life, so Jesus is so alive and dyanamic in his life, therefore his writings are so full of wisdom and deep truth. You don't see alot of that in prominent people. Religion is definately something that you do not see or even get a hint of in his writings. Thank the Lord! I am so sick of 'churchy religion' and people pleasers. I have been going thru particular deserts, it seems as one big one, and it has brought me to a place of wanting to see how others that God has used, went through them, in order to become that broken and crushed vessel. I guess another way of putting it is, I am drawn to see how God will bring us to the place of willingly go through that process for Him. What else is there to live for in this temporary life?? There are a group of people, (christians) who say they want revival, and even speak it from the pulpit, but are not willing to go all the way and jump off the edge, but only stand in the comfort of the edge looking on. They are not willing to stand against the powers and principalities of darkness, because the are still caught up in the religiousness of church.
Well to sum it up, I am glad that Oswald Chambers was bold in his writings and had a humble spirit about him, so we can all enjoy the works that his life produced.
Thanks for listening, Betty Olsen
