I am looking for a book with a scottish folk tale of a child that wished to enter a bag pipe contest but couldn't afford the necessary kilt.
The childs family brought together all the pieces of the family cloth they could gather and wove a kilt for the child. During the contest the child lost nerve but looking down at the love the family had brought together to make the child's participation possible, the child regained courage and finished the competition.
My friend loves this story and with the near death of her husband (don't ask me what the connection might be.) would like to find this story in a book.
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Jeff
