The sigficat chapters you mention are all about growing and maturing. Each of the four girls deals with a possible outcome in their life. Jo marries man, contrary to her belife to be an old maid, Beth is to sweet and is not a real world character in this book she dies, and Amy want to marry for money, but eventuall Marries Laure, she grows away from her concern of money, and into love, Meg, settles down and conforms to 19th century society beiefs. A woman should marry young, and have may children, each little woman has virtue. Their goal is to be as virtous in life, and live as happy as possible.
