How do the ideas of Nietzche lead to postmodern ideas in linguistics, or do they? Nietzche talks a lot about language and how we only come up with words for what we hold in contempt. Does this tie into what Sauseure and Derrida have said about language-- namely, that the relationship between the sign and the signified is always arbitrary? I have read some Nietzche, but I am looking for a response from someone who has maybe read all or most of his works, and in what passages and books I can find the enumeration of more of these ideas and links between Nietzche and postmodern linguistics.

in his book 'twilight of idols 'we can find some of his reflections on language -sign-metaphors etc-and about some line on his apothegm-and some lines in his 'what i owe to the ancients.'and the whole book is a modern linguistical expression of some profound logic and poetry-with prophecy even!

that is 'with maximum of energy with minimum signs'which is 'aera perennious' in style!

O.K., who's been screwin' around with my reply above? Meanwhile I've forgotten what I might have said. Perhaps the world has missed out on hearing words of infinite wisdom. Perhaps not! I was probably toking or drinking; I forget which...
p.s.,
Did Nietzsche catch syphilis from his sister? Or was he dorkin' a fat young boy and thereby pick it up?
