I read "The Lottery" in middle school for my literature class. I didn't like the story then because I really didn't understand it much. After reading it again today, I better understand the concept of the story. When I first read this story I thought it was going to be about a town lottery, which someone was going to when money when they drew a certain thing out of the box. Knowing that wasn't the truth when reading it this time, it changed my thoughts about the story. Shirley Jackson is a very interesting author, but this particular story "The Lottery" wouldn't be a favorite of mine. | ||
