I as many others remember reading this in high school. Even though I have read it before it still has the same shocking effect as it did the first time. Shirley Jackson did a great job of keeping the readers attention, and making it what a short story is supposed to be. This short story leaves an impression with you and keeps you thinking about it for sometime.
