HoodmakerAll right mate, I will tell you a story. It might not be a true story for there was never a sailor who went out to sea to find the truth. Only one sailor did return and well he did fare indeed. Thus was born the true Jolly Roger even though Roger was not his name. If you think you know his name, write it down on a 3x5 piece of paper and mail it to the true Jolly Roger. If you do not know his address then send it in care of me.
donjonMaybe you're talkin' sbout Odyseus who wasn't really a sailor at all, but just another poor dude taking flight from his old lady, Penelope. He sailed the seven seas which were far fewer than 7 in those days, probably only the Mediteranean where he had many adventures and probably brought back many venereal diseases to Penelope who was already up to her ass in pederasts on the home front (or back, as it were). But I'm not really sure about the plot, having read the old adventure tale in Homeric Greek at the hands of the Jesuits as a schoolboy whose Greek vocabulary was limited. My only other source was the Kirk Douglas flick which I thought was terribly miscast with a New York Jew, who couldn't quite overcome his accent, in the title role of Ulyses.
