Kurt Cobain's suicide marked a great day in the liberally dominated baby-boomer slacker/generation-x industry. He died for grunge, and lent it a credibility the editors of Rolling Stone could've never inspired on their own. Not even if David Greider wrote an article about it, or if they put Crawford's two best friends on the cover. All you had to do to be cool was to buy a heroin addict's CD, and feel his pain.
